The Role We’re hiring a Head of Client Finance Operations to take primary ownership of client financial execution across accounting and FP&A. This role is designed to significantly reduce the day-to-day workload of one of our founders, while raising the overall quality, consistency, and insight we deliver to clients. You will assist the COO and eventually own most client relationships, run financial operations end-to-end, and act as a trusted partner to founders—without needing constant oversight. What You’ll Do Own Client Financial Operations • Manage monthly close processes (QuickBooks Online) • Manage team on priorities and ensure deadlines are met • Design and maintain charts of accounts • Handle accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all client deliverables Lead Forecasting & Cash Management • Build and maintain cash flow forecasts (monthly and weekly) • Create scenario models for hiring, spend, and growth decisions • Analyze burn rate, runway, and liquidity risk • Use accounting data to continuously refine forecasts Deliver Active Cash Management Insights • Translate financials into clear, actionable insights for founders • Identify risks, trends, and opportunities early • Recommend actions—not just report numbers • Support clients in making smarter, more confident financial decisions Client Communication & Ownership • Lead recurring client meetings • Serve as the primary financial point of contact for assigned clients • Communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders • Handle urgent requests calmly and independently Improve Systems & Scale • Help refine templates, models, and workflows • Contribute to standardizing Countabl’s methodology • Support documentation and internal best practices • Mentor junior team members as we grow What Success Looks Like Within 90 days, you will: • Independently manage multiple client accounts • Own both accounting and forecasting without escalation • Reduce founder involvement in day-to-day execution by 60–80% • Deliver consistent, high-quality financial insight to clients • Improve predictability and clarity around client cash positions Who You Are You’re someone who: • Thrives at the intersection of accounting and FP&A • Takes ownership and doesn’t wait for direction • Enjoys working directly with founders • Cares deeply about cash flow, accuracy, and judgment • Is comfortable operating in ambiguity Qualifications Required • 7–12+ years of experience in accounting, FP&A, or financial advisory roles • Deep expertise in QuickBooks Online • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills • Experience managing multiple clients or business units • Strong communication and client-facing skills Preferred • Experience in an outsourced CFO, advisory, or startup environment • SaaS, productized services, or early-stage company exposure • Experience building forecasts from scratch • Comfort working in a small, high-trust team Why Countabl • Senior-level autonomy and ownership • Direct impact on clients and company direction • Thoughtful, high-quality work (not volume bookkeeping) • Competitive compensation with performance upside • Opportunity to help shape and scale a differentiated finance firm How to Apply Please apply using this link >>> https://jobs.gusto.com/postings/countabl-llc-head-of-client-finance-operations-1de36640-0e93-4b7e-9ead-72bd5e514359 OR apply via LinkedIn with your resume and a brief note on why this role aligns with your experience and interests.
