Director of Operations • This position requires the selected candidate to live in or near Jackson, CA to cover 2 jails. * Position Requirements: Holds a current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of employment where contracts are awarded. Must hold a valid CPR card. BSN preferred with a minimum of 2-5 years of progressive administrative/management experience in a healthcare field, 1 year experience in correctional healthcare preferred. Status: Full time, Exempt Accountable to: Director of Operations would assist Vice President of Clinical Operations Position Summary: The Director of Operations is responsible for the responsible for the oversight and effective management of jail operations sites assigned, frequent communication and reporting to CHP corporate office. In collaboration with the Vice President of Clinical Operations, the Director of Operations is responsible for leading the onsite clinical team, providing leadership guidance to the HSA/DON, managing, and evaluating all clinical nursing operations. Assuring all operations are in compliance with contract requirements, NCCHC, ACA, and meet professional nursing standards. Developing and maintaining client relationships as well as participation in business development in the RFP bid process, bid site tours and oral presentations. Oversee budget and financial performance of sites assignment. Liaison between client and corporate office. Frequent travel to sites to support site leadership and maintain client relations. Maintain contract compliance for assigned regional area. Physical Demands: Must have the physical and mental capacity to: · Walk on feet approximately 8 hours per day · Sit for 2-4 hours per day · Lift up to 25 pounds · Assist patients in standing, laying, walking and/or sitting · Frequently bend, stoop, reach and push/pull · Work in varying degrees of temperature (A/C) · Work under extreme pressure and time constraints · Manage difficult patients in a professional manner · Frequent and extended travel for site retention and start-ups Performance Expectations: A. Uses administrative knowledge and expertise to ensure that clinical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to P&P, company performance and accreditation standards. B. Work cohesively with the HSA and Medical Director in the management of the healthcare delivery system and administrative operations in coordination with other functions within the facilities. Must direct activities of the healthcare staff. C. Monitor compliance with site-specific policies and procedures and take appropriate corrective action. Ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC, company policies & procedures. D. Use all functions and applications of the EHRrelevant to the position with no supervision. E. Use all functions and applications of Relias and Rippling and monitor for compliance. Collaborate with the HSA to create staffing schedules within the contract matrix and budget. F. Maintain an open line of communication with corporate office on a regular basis and work collaboratively with onsite leadership and command staff. G. Identify and proactively take action to solve organizational problems to meet established goals. Keep Command staff informed of developing situations. H. Communicate effectively with clients, leadership. peers, and employees at all levels of the organization. Maintains clear lines of communication throughout the issue-resolution process to continue viewed as a trusted leader. I. Display performance based on professional practice standards. J. Collaborate with leadership, client and nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams. Stream services within the facility to increase productivity and functionality. K. Comply with continuing education requirements for respective position and be mindful of any NCCHC Standards related to continuing education. L. Assist with recruiting efforts identify and select high performing leaders and ancillary staff with skills that would fit CHP philosophy. Coordinate and/or participate in the interviewing and selection of Independent Contractors. M. Assist with disaster plans and emergency preparation. Adhere to and enforce all safety and security policies and procedures and participate in all applicable safety/emergency drills. N. Recognize individual/team accomplishments, identifies staff with talent for potential promotion and succession planning, and ensures HSA/DON all annual performance evaluations are completed timely. O. Work in accordance with the HSA and the Medical Director to fulfill the contractual requirements for the delivery of quality healthcare. P. Identify and proactively communicate potential labor management issues. Q. Establish a professional environment that supports ethical and legal standards of nursing practice. Models sound judgment regarding personal conduct/emotional maturity evidenced by handling conflict in the work environment, separating professional vs. personal issues, and effectively delivering care with compassion while maintaining objectivity.
