Line Cook Job Summary The Line Cook is a highly skilled and efficient back-of-house team member who is responsible for executing high-quality dishes for our guests. The Duties Include but are not limited to: • Manage all types of food and food products to prepare and present for dining customers • Follow all Cornbread Standard Operating Procedures to properly and efficiently prep/prepare all hot and cold food to the DOH and Cornbread’s standards • Work as a team with the management staff by performing routine cleaning and basic upkeep of the front and the back of the house • Perform general duties associated with setting up and breaking down stations throughout the kitchen and restaurant to start or close a shift as directed • Rotate, label, and date all products to minimize waste and spoilage • Inform the Chef on Duty of any sub-par product before the start of service • Maintain all kitchen equipment in clean working order at all times and escalate any issues to leadership • Assist with inventory counts as requested • Control and limit waste • Practice safe and clean work habits to avoid injury to self and others • Updates knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities Qualifications • Food Service: 1 year as a line cook or similar role • Proficiency in technology, writing, reading, • People skills: Dealing with a team proactively, professionally, and positively. • Ownership: Takes initiative, personally drives & takes pride in business. • Food Handlers certificate within 30 days or Serv Safe equivalent • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, operate carts, and hand trucks, and stand for long periods • Able to be detail-oriented, organized, safety-minded, trustworthy, and efficient. • Able to work indoors and sometimes outdoors throughout the shift. Cooks spend most of their time in the kitchen, with occasional work in outdoor areas.
