W2 candidate Only Role: Senior Logistics Engineer / Warehouse Design Engineer Work Type: 100% ONSITE – NO REMOTE Location: Fairfield, OH Duration: 9 Months (urgent start) ROLE OVERVIEW This role is a senior-level lead logistics engineer responsible for the end-to-end design, layout, and optimization of a warehouse transformation. The engineer will serve as a key decision-maker for warehouse layout, material flow, slotting, and product line setup, ensuring maximum efficiency, space utilization, ergonomics, and throughput. This role is hands-on and design-focused, not operational management. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES • Design and plan the inner layout of a warehouse transformation • Lead warehouse layout, slotting studies, and material flow design • Set up and optimize new warehouse product lines (1,000+ products / 5,000+ part numbers) • Create facility layouts, simulations, and flow designs using AutoCAD and simulation tools • Coordinate setup and optimization of warehouse processes and systems • Apply Lean principles to streamline process flow and improve efficiency • Measure warehousing performance (cost and service) and implement improvements • Work as part of a 3–4 person engineering team with tight timelines REQUIRED SKILLS (MUST HAVE) • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering • Senior-level experience in warehouse design and optimization • Logistics Engineering / Industrial Engineering background • Proven experience as the final decision-maker on warehouse layout and product line setup • WMS-agnostic operational design experience • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD tools • Proficiency in SAP • Strong understanding of material handling systems and warehouse flow HIGHLY DESIRED • Experience with conveyor systems and ASRS • Facility simulation tools (FlexSim or similar) • Knowledge of PIT and warehouse equipment • Data and reporting exposure (SQL, Tableau – plus) • Strong ergonomics and efficiency-driven design mindset
