Title: Project Support Engineer Job Description: Work closely with Sales, Application Engineering, and Cooper’s Internal and External Customers to ensure that customer’s requirements are met. Work systematically to make informed decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Understand design requirements of reciprocating engine’s critical components such as power pistons, power cylinders, cylinder liners, heads, crankshaft, bed and block and be able to determine critical to quality (CTQ’s) of each of these components. Implement appropriate American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards on manufacturing drawings/models and apply correct Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5M standard. Perform engineering functions within TeamCenter and SAP software, including material master and bill of material (BOM) creation, checking, and approval processes. Stay up to date with industry standards and ASME Code knowledge. Investigate and solve technical issues on reciprocating engine and gas compression and combustion equipment. Participate in Warranty Review Board. Learn and adapt quickly and report out on KPI using company selected software. 100% telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the US. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another Engineering discipline, plus 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, or a substantially similar position. Special Skills Required: Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with all of the following: working with integral engine and reciprocating compressor assemblies, including design, assembly process, and manufacturing methods; implementing American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards on manufacturing drawings and models; working with reciprocating equipment in engines and or compressors; implementing process improvement; operations and engineering maintenance leadership; leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams; substantial knowledge of reciprocation compressor packaging, package operations, and maintenance; and conducting compressor analytical review using Windrock or similar software.
