Cloud System Engineer / Migration Specialist W2 only. No C2C or visa sponsorship available. We are seeking an experienced Cloud System Engineer/Migration Specialist with strong hands-on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience. This role will support a large-scale OS upgrade initiative across an enterprise OCI environment, with a focus on minimizing downtime and preserving system configurations and application data throughout the upgrade process. Responsibilities • Lead and execute large-scale OS upgrades and migrations within OCI • Perform in-place upgrades of Windows and Linux operating systems • Manage OCI Compute, storage, networking, and data protection • Maintain boot/block volume configurations and application data during upgrades • Automate OS upgrade and migration activities • Manage Linux packages and OS lifecycle activities • Troubleshoot infrastructure and OS issues throughout the upgrade process • Support backup, recovery, and rollback activities Requirements • 9+ years of relevant experience • Strong hands-on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience • Experience with OCI Compute, storage, networking, and data protection • Hands-on OS upgrade and migration experience • Strong Windows and Linux experience • Experience with boot and block volumes • Infrastructure or OS automation experience Additional Details • Remote for candidates outside the Washington, DC metro area • W2 contract • Long-term opportunity
