Technical Web Support Specialist Location: Remote Compensation: $27.50 – $32.50 per hour Classification: Independent Contractor (1099) Work Structure: Ongoing, consistent workload About Contractor Web Zone Contractor Web Zone is a U.S.-based website and digital platform provider serving contractors nationwide. We manage and support live business websites, hosting infrastructure, business email, and review integration tools. We are seeking a dependable, professional Technical Web Support Specialist for a long-term working relationship. This is not a short-term freelance project or occasional gig. We are looking for someone who wants consistent, ongoing work and values stability. This role requires both technical ability and professional client communication. It is not a behind-the-scenes coding-only position. Position Overview This is a role focused on website support, light development tasks, and client interaction. We anticipate a steady volume of work averaging approximately 30–35 billable hours per week. Must maintain reliable availability to respond to occasional client calls and support requests during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central). Outside of client response expectations, work may be completed independently at the Contractor’s discretion. We are looking for someone who values consistency, ownership, and professional accountability. Responsibilities • Respond to client phone calls and support emails • Communicate clearly and professionally with business owners • Triage and document website support requests • Make direct edits to HTML and CSS files • Build simple pages within established templates • Update text, images, links, embeds, and layout elements • Insert tracking codes (Google tags, analytics, chat widgets, forms, etc.) • Troubleshoot cross-browser formatting issues • Perform QA checks before publishing changes • Follow documented internal workflows and escalation processes Required Skills • Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS • Comfort editing live production code safely and accurately • Ability to read and place small JavaScript snippets • Familiarity with tracking tags and embedded scripts • Experience using browser developer tools • Professional phone presence and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications • Basic JavaScript familiarity • Experience working within a structured or proprietary CMS • Conceptual understanding of hosting and DNS environments • Prior agency, SaaS, or technical support experience • Familiarity with SEO-aware markup Who This Role Is For This role is a strong fit for someone who: • Wants steady, ongoing contract work • Is dependable and responsive during business hours • Is comfortable speaking directly with clients • Takes pride in accuracy and follow-through • Prefers structured systems over chaotic freelance environments This is not a fit for someone looking for occasional side projects or isolated coding work.
