SUMMARY: Responsible for performing in-process and/or final quality inspection on surface mount electronic assemblies. FUNCTIONS: · Perform basic visual inspection of assembly and solder quality on printed circuit / electro-mechanical assemblies. · Perform visual inspection using stereo microscope and lux lamps. · Interpret inspection results according to IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or customer requirements. · Maintain accurate counts of quantities accepted or rejected. · Maintain separation of accepted and rejected material boards and cable assemblies according to their work order. · Check each board or assembly for inspection arrows and obvious defects. · Perform final count of acceptable assemblies. · Compare shop traveler quantity to final count and notify supervisor in cases of discrepancy. REQUIREMENTS: · Detail oriented. · Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English to the degree necessary to perform the job. · Ability to understand prints and specifications. · Ability to verify fine detail work. · Ability to understand and follow directions inspecting printed circuit assemblies. · Proficient at reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and bills of material. · 2-3 years relevant experience in contract manufacturing and printed circuit board assembly inspection. · Quality Assurance Inspectors must possess the ability to prioritize jobs according to internal schedule and exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
