Lead forecasting and market intelligence programs, manage a team, develop reports and data visualizations, and serve as an industry expert and spokesperson.
8-10 years as an industry/business analyst with 3-5 years managing direct reports, bachelor's degree (master's preferred), and proficiency in SQL, R, Power BI, and database tools.
Basic Function of the Position: Lead forecasting and market intelligence programs, including data analysis and reporting, while developing innovative approaches to address the ever-evolving needs of CTA members and internal stakeholders. Serve as an industry analyst, interfacing with CTA members, staff and media. Support CTA’s thematic index (Nasdaq) program. Critical Duties and Responsibilities: • Oversee the creation and updating of various forecast models and reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance. • Supervise and support a team of direct reports and colleagues in research and forecasting activities. • Present and communicate forecast findings and industry trends to various stakeholders, including members, industry groups, and journalists. • Serve as a subject matter expert and spokesperson for industry trends. • Maintain and update databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. • Develop and implement promotional strategies for data publications in collaboration with marketing and communications teams. • Develop and maintain comprehensive data visualizations and dashboards to support business insights. • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for data sources, surveys, and consulting services. • Coordinate and lead special projects, such as economic impact studies, Innovation Scorecards, trade data and tariff impact analysis, and ad hoc research. • Work with peers in market research to identify trends, support thematic programs, including CTA/Nasdaq indexes and align research products to support CTA goals. • Support CES through roles such as spokesperson, trends expert and tour leader. • Perform other duties as assigned. Work Experience: • 8-10 years’ experience as industry, business, research or business intelligence analyst • 3-5 years’ experience in managing direct reports Education/Training: • Bachelor’s degree in business, data management, economics, or related field • Master’s degree in business administration, data science, economics or a related field is desirable. Skills/Capabilities/Technical: • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with languages such as SQL and R; visualization tools such as Power BI, and database management tools such as SQL Server Management Studio. • Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex data sets. • Forecasting: Experience in developing and updating forecast models. • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional teams. • Vendor Management: Skilled in managing vendor relationships and contracts. • Communication: Strong presentation and communication skills. • Database Management: Knowledge of database maintenance and data integrity practices. • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives. • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of industry trends. • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and support teams.
