QA Engineer Salt Lake City, UT or Remote Long-term contract: $35-$43.50 per hour We are seeking an experienced QA/Test Analyst with a strong background in the Banking domain, particularly in retail banking products and system migrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in testing and documentation, with the ability to identify gaps in complex solutions, challenge requirements, and ensure high-quality deliverables. This role requires working in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to major system conversions and migrations. Candidates must have end to end testing experience. Key Responsibilities • Develop, review, and maintain detailed test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria. • Identify gaps in complex functional solutions and requirements documentation; proactively challenge subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure all gaps are addressed. • Participate in defects triage sessions, facilitate discussions, and provide clear reporting. • Ensure traceability throughout the testing lifecycle. • Estimate testing effort, plan work accordingly, and deliver within timelines. • Collaborate effectively with team members while also working autonomously when required. Required Qualifications and Experience • 7+ years of professional experience in software testing/QA. • Proven participation on a testing team within the Banking domain. • Hands-on experience with major system conversions and migrations. • Domain knowledge and testing/documentation experience in the following areas: • Demand deposit accounts (DDA), savings accounts, and money market accounts • Transfers, sweeps, and account opening platforms • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) and strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Epics, User Stories, Tasks) compared to Waterfall. • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Desired Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field; or equivalent work experience (relevant domain experience highly valued). • Experience with software automation testing tools, automation frameworks, design methodologies, and related technologies. • Familiarity with Jira, Rational, TFS, or advanced use of Azure DevOps. • Well-developed testing experience with solid troubleshooting capabilities. • Experience with or familiarity with customer branch banking processes and procedures. Advantageous Skills • Experience with or ability to quickly learn automated testing tools. • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. • Strong multi-tasking abilities. • Highly detail-oriented approach.
