Job Description: Greenwich Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE long-term substitute literacy specialist for Central Middle School through approximately June 30, 2026; the position carries full salary and benefits for the duration of the assignment. Position Purpose 1. To support students, teachers, and administrators by providing guidance, leadership, expertise, and instruction to improve literacy achievement for all students in all content areas (reading, writing, math, social studies, science). 2. To effectively assess and diagnose student literacy needs and design and deliver literacy instruction. Qualifications Profile • CT State Certification, or certifiability, in Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts (#102) or Reading and Language Arts Consultant (#097) required • Outstanding ability as an elementary literacy educator required Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
