Developing and customizing Transmission EMS modules for real-time grid management and system deployment.
Extensive experience with Transmission Power System modules, EMS implementation, and proficiency in C++, Java, SQL, and scripting in Linux/Windows environments.
Role: PSA Engineer (Transmission EMS) | GSW Engagement Client: Energy / Power Utilities Location: Melbourne, FL or Bellevue, WA (Onsite preferred; Remote with travel OK) Duration: 6+ months Experience Required: 6–8 years (Power Systems + EMS + C++/Java) This is a high-impact engineering role accountable for customizing, developing, and implementing Transmission-level Power Systems Applications (PSA) for major electric utilities, ISOs, and TSOs. The focus is on AEMS (Advanced Energy Management System), specifically network transmission applications like load flow, contingency analysis, state estimation, and power factor modules. The role directly contributes to mission-critical real-time grid operations, requiring both technical engineering depth and hands-on system implementation experience. Power System / Transmission Expertise • Must have worked on Transmission PSA modules: • Load Flow • Contingency Analysis • Power Factor / Reactive Power Management • (Any EMF, ATC, State Estimation is a plus) • Strong understanding of grid operations, real-time EMS, SCADA, DMS. EMS Implementation & Customization • Minimum 5+ years experience delivering Energy Management Systems. • Preference for e-terra AEMS (Reliance) implementation background. • Must have system design → coding → testing → deployment → tuning experience. • Ability to handle fixes on live customer systems (mission-critical workload). Software Engineering Skills • Strong programming with: • C++, Java, OOPS • SQL / Oracle • Shell scripting • Ability to read and debug logs, troubleshoot, and resolve complex real-time issues. • Experience working on Linux + Windows environments. • GitHub, ClearCase for version control.
