Job Summary The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all transportation operations within the organization. This role involves managing logistics, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing routes, and leading a team of drivers and logistics personnel. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of transportation management, and a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency. Duties • Develop and implement transportation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. • Manage daily operations of the transport department, including scheduling and route planning. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations. • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are in safe operating condition. • Lead, train, and evaluate transport staff to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies. • Collaborate with other departments to align transportation needs with overall business objectives. • Analyze transportation data to identify trends and areas for improvement. • Handle customer inquiries related to transportation services and resolve any issues that arise. Qualifications • A Minimum of 5 years of management experience in transportation or related field • A Minimum of 5 years of managing a team of 20 or more employees • Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation regulations. • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. • Proficient in using transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for data analysis and problem-solving. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • A valid driver's license is preferred; experience in driving commercial vehicles is a plus.
