SUMMARY: The company is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager. This role is vital for ensuring efficient procurement, production, inventory management, and timely distribution of our precision mechanical components and subassemblies. You will collaborate closely with the Leadership team to drive continuous improvement, enhance supplier relationships, and ensure a resilient and cost-effective supply chain that supports our growth objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for a wide array of duties, focusing on both strategic planning and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include: • Developing, defining, and implementing strategic purchasing plans that align with company goals, identifying necessary materials and services to support production and operations. • Managing the entire procurement process, from requisition to purchase order creation, vendor selection, negotiation of prices and terms, and contract management. • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, evaluating their performance, conducting supplier audits, and seeking opportunities for supplier consolidation, cost reduction, and process improvement. • Developing and implementing inventory control procedures and best practices to optimize inventory levels and prevent shortages and overstocking. • Monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular audits and cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and managing inventory adjustments to maintain accurate records. • Analyzing inventory data, generating reports, and tracking KPIs to identify trends, forecast demand, and improve inventory accuracy and efficiency. • Collaborating with various departments (e.g., Production, Sales, Finance) to ensure inventory levels are aligned with production schedules, customer orders, and financial targets. • Overseeing the receiving and inspection of materials, ensuring quality standards are met, and resolving any issues related to defective goods or services. • Leading and mentoring a team of purchasing and inventory control professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment, and setting clear performance objectives. • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to purchasing and inventory control. • Identifying and mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions, supplier reliability, and inventory management. • Analyzing market trends and staying updated on industry developments to inform purchasing decisions and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the supply chain. EDUCATION: • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in manufacturing. • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory control, and supply chain management. • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software. • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
