3 years events management and 5 years restaurant experience, strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge of restaurant service standards, and ability to handle stress.
We are an established local restaurant group seeking an experienced Event Sales Manager that also knows the operations / execution side of Private Dining and Catering. An event coordinator must be competent in driving sales, be well-organized, customer-service oriented. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. The goal is to grow our private dining and event sales across all 4 venues and to provide an experience that keep guests coming back for more. Responsibilities • Grow private dining and event sales by acquiring new leads and converting them into bookings • Upsell private dining and event bookings to maximize profit • Understand guest requirements for each event • Plan each event with attention to financial and time constraints • Manage and adhere to established room fees and other booking requirements • Communicate with guests to meet full expectations • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, taking deposits, printing menus, attending local networking events.) • Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems. Be present at major events to ensure success and create future sales. • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports to leadership • Effectively manage private dining and events operations to promote guest experience and maximize profits • Coordinate with the General Manager and other management to align all staff and management on expectations Skills • Experience as private dining and event coordinator in the full-service restaurant industry • A proven track record of growing year over year private dining sales • Knowledge of basic service standards and restaurant practices • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills • Able to handle stress and remain calm • Problem-solving ability • Degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred, but not required • Experience with Restaurant365, Tripleseat, OpenTable, Resy, Toast and Excel are helpful but not required • Adheres to all Federal, State, and local laws in addition to Company policy related to employment practices. • Promotes a positive, professional and harassment-free environment for guests and employees alike.
