Position Summary The Operations Manager (Student Retention Focused) is responsible for overseeing operational processes that directly impact student persistence, academic progression, and successful program completion in a Title IV–eligible private postsecondary institution. This role plays a critical function in supporting regulatory compliance, student outcomes, cohort default risk mitigation, and accreditation standards, while ensuring a consistent, student-centered experience across the entire student lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities Student Retention & Title IV Compliance • Develop, implement, and monitor student retention strategies aligned with: • Effectively manage retention staff to achieve the goals • Accreditor standards • Institutional policies and procedures • Monitor key indicators affecting Title IV eligibility, including: • Attendance and participation • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) • Academic engagement and completion • Coordinate early intervention for at-risk students to reduce: • Withdrawals Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Oversight • Ensure consistent and timely monitoring of SAP standards • Coordinate with: • Academic leadership • Financial Aid • Managing the Student Advising staff • Manage and support the registrar to support SAP appeals processing and documentation • Ensure proper communication to students regarding SAP status and requirements Operational Oversight & Process Control • Oversee day-to-day operational workflows impacting: • Academic delivery • Student support services • Retention interventions • Develop, maintain, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance • Identify process gaps and implement corrective actions Cross-Functional Coordination • Serve as a central liaison between: • Admissions • Academic Affairs • Financial Aid • Registrar • Student Services • Compliance / Accreditation • Ensure accurate and compliant handoffs across the student lifecycle: Enrollment → Attendance → SAP → Graduation / Withdrawal Data, Reporting & Regulatory Readiness • Track and analyze key Title IV–related metrics, including: • Retention and persistence rates • Academic progress and completion • Prepare operational reports for: • Senior leadership • Accreditation reviews • Department of Education audits and program reviews • Support institutional readiness for: • Financial aid audits • Accreditor site visits Cohort Default Risk & Student Outcomes • Collaborate with Financial Aid and Student Services to support: • Student engagement • Academic continuity • Completion outcomes • Contribute operational data and retention strategies that support: • Reduced loan default risk • Improved graduation and placement outcomes Team Leadership & Staff Development • Supervise student services, retention, and operations staff • Set performance expectations tied to: • Student persistence • Compliance accuracy • Service quality • Provide ongoing training related to: • Title IV regulations • Institutional policies • Student retention best practices Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in: • Education • Higher Education Administration • Business Administration • Operations Management • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in: • Title IV–eligible postsecondary institutions • Student retention, student services, or academic operations • Demonstrated working knowledge of: • Title IV regulations • SAP standards • R2T4 concepts • Accreditation requirements Preferred Qualifications • Experience in: • Private, career, or vocational colleges • Familiarity with: • Student Information Systems (SIS) • Learning Management Systems (LMS) • CRM and retention analytics tools • Experience supporting: • Compliance audits Key Competencies • Strong understanding of Title IV compliance impacts on retention • Process-driven and detail-oriented • Data-informed decision-making • Cross-functional leadership • Student-centered problem-solving • Clear written and verbal communication Performance Indicators • Improved student retention and persistence rates • Reduction in: • Withdrawals • R2T4 frequency • SAP violations • Successful audits and program reviews with minimal findings • Positive student satisfaction and engagement metrics • Reporting to external agencies Work Environment • Compliance-driven academic environment • High accountability role with measurable outcomes • Requires collaboration across academic, financial aid, and compliance teams Pay: $57,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year Benefits: • Employee discount • Paid time off • Parental leave • Referral program • Tuition reimbursement Application Question(s): • Do you have minimum 5 years' experience in for-profit college?
