About the Opportunity If you’ve ever dreamed of running your own daycare, this is your chance to lead one — with the support and mentorship of experienced owners. We’re an established, privately owned dog daycare and boarding facility in East Nashville preparing for our next phase of growth. After several years of steady success, we’re rebuilding our team and systems from the ground up to create a safer, more efficient, and more supportive environment for both pets and people. We’re seeking a Ground-Floor Operations Manager who’s ready to take ownership of rebuilding operations, creating new systems, and training their own team — all while working side-by-side with the owners. This is a hands-on, collaborative leadership role that combines animal care, team development, and small-business strategy. You’ll help lead a local facility that serves both client dogs and rescue dogs, ensuring every pup in our care has a safe, structured, and compassionate experience. What You’ll Do • Lead daily daycare and boarding operations with a hands-on approach • Build, train, and lead your own staff team with the support of ownership • Oversee playgroup safety, feeding routines, and cleaning systems • Collaborate directly with owners to refine structure and daily workflows • Create a positive, accountable, and team-oriented workplace culture • Support rescue integration efforts for foster and adoptable dogs • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and communication Who You Are • 2+ years of professional dog daycare, boarding, or kennel experience • Prior leadership experience (shift lead, supervisor, or manager) preferred • Confident managing group play and reading canine body language • Skilled at training, coaching, and motivating staff • Reliable, organized, and proactive under pressure • Passionate about dogs, rescue work, and creating a supportive workplace Compensation & Growth • Starting pay: $20–$22/hour (based on experience) • First raise opportunity: As early as 90 days, based on performance and facility growth • Additional reviews: Conducted periodically as responsibilities expand • Performance incentives: Occasional bonuses or pay increases tied to team success and leadership • Future benefits: PTO, health stipend, and continuing education opportunities as capacity expands You’ll grow with the business — the stronger the systems and team you build, the faster your compensation and benefits increase. Our Culture We’re proud to be a women-owned and LGBTQ+-friendly workplace. We value diversity, inclusion, and empathy — and we believe the best animal care starts with compassion toward people, too. Why This Role Matters This role is the cornerstone of our next chapter. You’ll work directly alongside the owners to rebuild operations, strengthen team structure, and create a facility that reflects both compassion and professionalism. Together, we’ll provide a safe, enriching space for every dog — from long-time clients to rescues — while building a workplace where people feel just as supported.
