General Manager – Distribution Operations About the Opportunity A leading organization is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead a high-volume distribution center operating in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for overall site performance, including operational execution, financial results, customer satisfaction, and team development. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic operations and has a proven ability to build high-performing teams while delivering exceptional service and profitability. Position Summary The General Manager has full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of a large-scale distribution operation. This role oversees all aspects of the facility, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, staffing, and customer service. The General Manager will ensure operational excellence, drive financial performance, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. This role requires flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, with accountability for ensuring leadership coverage across all shifts as business needs dictate. Key Responsibilities • Provide overall leadership and accountability for all aspects of the distribution center. • Oversee inbound, receiving, inventory management, order selection, outbound shipping, and customer service operations. • Drive operational efficiency and service performance through the use of key performance metrics. • Manage site financial performance, including labor costs, budgets, and profitability. • Ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded. • Resolve operational, employee, and customer issues in a timely manner. • Develop and maintain staffing plans aligned with business requirements. • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop site leadership and hourly associates. • Ensure accurate reporting, payroll administration, and operational documentation. • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Qualifications • 3+ years of progressive management experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environments. • Proven success leading large teams in a fast-paced operation. • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and interpreting P&L statements. • Ability to prioritize competing demands and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment. • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Bilingual skills are preferred based on site needs. • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Work Environment and Physical Requirements • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment with flexibility to support evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
