The Commissioning & Aftersales Manager is responsible for leading all America commissioning and post-delivery service activities for our solar tracking systems. This role oversees field execution, operational performance, customer satisfaction, and warranty/aftersales programs, ensuring that every plant is delivered, commissioned, and supported according to our technical, commercial, and HSE standards. The manager will direct multidisciplinary teams, optimize processes, coordinate with global engineering and operations, and serve as the primary escalation point for clients during commissioning and the initial operational phase of each project. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Department Management • Lead the Commissioning & Aftersales department, overseeing resource planning, staffing, performance management, and daily operations. • Manage departmental budget, forecasting, and cost-control measures to deliver profitable results. • Implement department KPIs aligned with project milestones, commissioning timelines, field productivity, and customer satisfaction. Commissioning Oversight • Ensure correct execution of commissioning activities, from pre-commissioning checks to final plant energization and acceptance. • Review and approve commissioning plans, method statements, test procedures, and documentation packages. • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, and Manufacturing to resolve technical issues affecting commissioning progress. • Lead weekly commissioning reviews with leadership to report progress, risks, delays, and cost impacts. Customer & Contract Management • Serve as the key customer contact during commissioning, project turnover, and early operations. • Clarify technical and contractual questions during pre-award and execution phases. • Issue critical notifications to clients (delays, stoppage of work, change orders, cost impacts, etc.). • Review contracts to ensure commissioning requirements, warranty terms, and liquidated damages risks are clearly understood and managed. Aftersales & Warranty Operations • Oversee management of all warranty cases, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and coordination with Quality & Engineering. • Establish service-level standards for response time, troubleshooting, and field repairs. • Track recurring issues and implement engineering or process improvements. • Ensure all service visits, replacement activities, and customer communications are well documented. Process & Performance Improvement • Evaluate work protocols with coordinators and PEM engineers, identifying improvements to increase quality, reduce rework, and accelerate commissioning timelines. • Standardize commissioning and aftersales procedures across all U.S. sites. • Implement tools (dashboards, field reporting platforms, commissioning trackers) to enhance efficiency and transparency. • Analyze department utilization to ensure correct manpower allocation across global projects. Safety & Compliance • Enforce HSE standards across all field activities, ensuring compliance with the company and customer requirements. • Promote a proactive safety culture, empowering teams to identify and stop unsafe work conditions. • Ensure all commissioning documentation meets internal quality and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Education • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Renewable Energy Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline). Experience • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or industrial commissioning roles. • At least 3 years managing field teams (10+ people) in a high-complexity environment. • Strong background in troubleshooting, commissioning, and operational support of mechanical/electrical systems. • Experience managing customer relationships and leading technical/commercial discussions. Skills & Competencies • Strong leadership, team development, and decision-making abilities. • Excellent customer engagement, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. • Advanced project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple site deployments simultaneously. • Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams, PLC/SCADA signals, and commissioning test data. • High proficiency in MS Office, project tracking tools, and reporting systems. • English fluency required; Spanish highly preferred. Other Requirements • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. • Valid driver’s license. • Ability to work in dynamic construction environments.
