Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller (Temp-to-Perm) Location: Remote (Two trips required: CA & TX) Start: January Type: 3-Month Contract (Strong Potential to Convert to Permanent) Industry: Construction or related experience helpful Company: High-growth, PE-backed platform About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to support our rapidly growing, private-equity–backed platform business.. This role will work closely with the existing Controller to strengthen accounting operations, streamline processes, and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting. The position begins as a 3-month remote assignment with a strong possibility of moving into a permanent role. Key Responsibilities • Partner with the Controller on daily accounting operations • Support AP, AR, and general accounting activities • Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations • Prepare internal financial reports and support external reporting needs • Help coordinate audit activities • Support cash flow monitoring and forecasting • Track and report financial and operational KPIs • Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices • Maintain and strengthen internal controls • Support regulatory and tax reporting requirements • Assist with onboarding, training, and supporting the accounting team as needed Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience • Experience as an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller required • CPA or CMA preferred, not required • Strong knowledge of GAAP • Experience in construction, field services, or related industries a plus • Prior experience in PE-backed environments helpful • Proficiency with mid-level ERP systems • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote environment • Ability to travel for two on-site trips (CA & TX) Why Join Us? • Opportunity to contribute during an exciting growth phase • Collaborative environment with strong Controller + CFO partnership • Potential long-term home with a fast-growing, PE-backed platform • Compensation $100/hr Pay: $100.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week Education: • Bachelor's (Required) Experience: • Progressive Accounting: 7 years (Required) Work Location: Remote
