Technical Raw Material Developer The Technical Raw Material Developer supports the Raw Material Development team by partnering closely with Design, Merchandising, and cross-functional product teams. This role assists in the creation and refinement of new materials, ensuring developments progress smoothly through seasonal timelines. The Associate contributes to material testing, documentation, communication with suppliers, and internal project coordination, while continuing to grow their technical understanding of textiles and material performance. This position requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, and an eagerness to support the end-to-end development process. Key Responsibilities Material Development Support • Assist in initiating and tracking new raw material developments across seasons and core programs. • Coordinate material testing, gather results, and support analysis against performance requirements. • Work with team leadership to communicate issues or discrepancies and support problem-solving with suppliers. Timeline & Project Coordination • Ensure assigned developments align with the product development calendar and meet required deadlines. • Share ongoing status updates with managers and internal/external partners as needed. • Support collaboration with Sourcing to address challenges such as minimum order quantities, costing, lead times, and manufacturing constraints. • Help prepare final approved materials-standards, specifications, and test documentation-for transition to Quality for production readiness. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with leaders to provide trend insights, innovation concepts, and material lifecycle updates to Product Development, Merchandising, and Design teams. • Conduct research on seasonal material direction and emerging raw material technologies. • Build strong working relationships with counterparts across Supply Chain, Technical Design, Color, Sourcing, and Quality. • Help organize and participate in supplier presentations and material review sessions with cross-functional teams. Required Education • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Development, or a related field OR equivalent relevant experience. Required Skills & Experience • Previous experience in apparel, textiles, or product development is preferred. • Understanding of fabric and trim development processes. • Exposure to material testing and familiarity with yarn, knit, and woven constructions-both natural and synthetic-as well as finishing techniques. • Proficiency with common software platforms (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator). • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is a plus. • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data. • Quick learner who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. • Adaptable, solution-focused, and comfortable managing shifting priorities. Physical Requirements & Work Environment • Office-based role requiring extended periods of computer work. • Occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs. • Domestic and international travel up to 15%. • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed. • Hybrid work structure with regular on-site presence required. • Smoke-free/tobacco-free work environment. #LI-RS1
