Job Title Americas MP&L Lead Department Material Planning & Logistics Location Novi, MI Job Description Responsible for the management activities of scheduling, supplier releases, inventory control, customer service, logistics, and warehousing operations. Primary Responsibilities • Management of overall performance of direct reports to departmental metrics through the PDCA process and the Professional Development System. • Execute and develop strategic planning goals/KPI’s in the areas of Customer delivery performance, Supplier delivery performance, Inventory metrics, and Logistics & Premium Freight and system for PDCA. • Manage Material Handling activities: Team member schedules, Kronos updates, 5S activities, Procedures & DJI are, Shipping, Receiving, Line feeding, Training, Safety, Fork Truck Maintenance, and expense budgets. • Coordinate Logistics requirements with Ryder and assist in providing information to assist in developing cost effective freight costs. Analyze & approve monthly freight cost data from SSI and examine opportunities for cost reductions, working with Ryder on implementing savings. Manage and report freight performance to budget. • Communicate to the Operating Committee on a daily basis at the Accountability Board key issues related to the daily operation of the business such as Customer delivery issues, Supplier delivery issues, misses to shipping and/or planning schedules, premium freight, End Item Days on Hand, and key balance out dates. • Manage the system to forecast Manning Planning requirements, Sales and Volume forecasts, reporting concerns/issues to the Operating Committee. Engineering change management as required. • Ensure that department operates within recommended health and safety practices. • Support and ensure compliance with current quality and environmental systems. • Freight budget and forecast analysis for the Americas Plants • Analysis on Premium Freight instances included root cause and corrective actions working with MP&L Mangers from the NA region • Evaluate and optimize external warehouse costs/process • Support the consolidation of supplier data as ROD’s, inventory status, critical part support coordinating efforts with Manufacturing Product Groups, MP&L Managers, AM MP&L team • Participate in pursuit of new programs to define customer requirements, resources, budget and launch risks by working closely with Program Managers and MP&L Plant Managers • EDI support provided on Automotive OEM Customers, including specific requirements such as labeling, ASNs transmission, product sequencing ILVS, systems integration as SAP/QAD • Managing our overall tariff exposure and mitigation strategies with custom’s brokers, and supporting commercial recovery efforts Years of Experience • 10+ years of experience Degree Preferred • Bachelor’s degree in field related with production and inventory control and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
