Reporting to the Director and/or Assistant Director of Residential, the Shift Supervisor oversees Youth Worker I and Youth Worker II staff during their assigned 7:00AM-3:00PM shift. The Shift Supervisor oversees and directs youth (ages 12-21) to ensure program requirements are being met and are responsible for the overall care and wellbeing of the residents in the program. This includes assisting with and/or completing required documentation, training, and offering support/supervision needed to ensure all daily activities and tasks are completed with the residents and the Youth Workers. What Do I Need? Education and Experience Bachelors degree and 1 year of experience working with youth OR Associate degree (or 60 credits) and 3 years of experience working with youth AND At least one year of supervisory experience is required. Other Requirements • Must be at least 21 years of age. • You will maintain required state and federal criminal and child abuse clearances, credentials and/or licenses. • A drivers license and reliable transportation • Physical Exam is required for this position • Certification in First Aid and CPR required (training is provided) • Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training is required and provided. What Will I Do? • You will supervise the assigned staff, evaluate employee performance, and make recommendations for employment actions to the director or assistant director as appropriate. • You will monitor shift activities and conduct staff training/coaching opportunities. • You will direct the shift activities and responsibilities of the Youth Worker staff while maintaining appropriate staffing ratios. • You will maintain group control when on or off grounds ensuring youth safety. • You will be responsible for accurate and timely communication and documentation of all shift activities. • You will be responsible for program supervision and security in the absence of leadership staff. • You will administer medication following policies and procedures. • You will perform Youth Worker I and Youth Worker II duties as necessary. • You will provide on-call and coverage support to ensure appropriate staffing ratios are maintained. • You will assist in the development of an on-call schedule. • You will provide transportation utilizing agency vehicle as necessary. • You will maintain program training requirements utilizing both an electronic learning management system and in-person experiences. • You will monitor agency email communications regularly to ensure communications are received and responded to as appropriate.
