Job Description Job Title: Database Manager Location: Remote Overview CompTech is seeking a Database Manager in support of our customer, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This role is a hybrid position responsible for both overseeing data migration to a new application database and managing the existing Oracle 19c environment. Approximately 20% of the role will focus on data migration activities, 50% on database management and optimization, and 20% on coordinating administrative tasks with the Cloud Hosting team. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Appian’s Data Fabric, including its full range of design objects, with the ability to connect and unify enterprise data into a scalable model. They should also be able to leverage multiple data objects within applications to access and manage enterprise-wide data across both Appian and integrated systems. Scope of Work Key responsibilities include: Lead data migration initiatives, ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient conversion to new Oracle databases. Develop migration strategies, technical specifications, and repeatable processes; build, test, and execute solutions using tools like SAP Data Services, LSMW, BAPI, and SAP Migration Cockpit. Perform data profiling, validation, cleansing, and enrichment to maintain high-quality enterprise data. Administer and maintain database schemas and objects, including design, auditing, and performance tuning. Advise users on database access and ensure compliance with security, STIGs, and RMF requirements. Coordinate with cloud hosting teams to manage Oracle RDS environments, create ITSM tickets, and support Continuity of Operations planning. Collaborate across capture, operations, and cybersecurity teams to optimize database performance and support mission-critical applications Knowledge, Skills, and Certification Requirements: 5+ years of experience with Oracle, including Oracle 19c. 5 years of progressive experience with database query languages, including Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Database Schema management. Experience working across various operating systems and proficiency in additional programming languages. Participation in at least two large-scale projects within a large organization, responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing enterprise databases.
