Full Description

HYBRID and 37.5 hour work week! RESPONSIBILITIES • Control the financial resources of the company and the managed residual market mechanisms to ensure that all financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles and standards. • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop financial services staff to achieve financial objectives of the company and residual market mechanisms. Understand each department’s responsibilities, determine work procedures, coordinate work schedules amongst departments, expedite workflow, and assist in task functions when needed. • Manage relationships between corporate internal departments and external customers to ensure assigned tasks and projects are met within the allotted timeframe and budget. • Attend state specific Governing Board meetings and present specific Financial & Investment Services topics. • Monitor and research new or amended GAAP/NAIC regulations reporting requirements and develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance. • Coordinate the financial audit functions and exam, to ensure all audit requirements are met and are complying. • Review and ensure all management reports prepared are accurate and issued timely. Must be able to identify, validate and explain experience trends. REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor's degree from a four-year university majoring in Accounting or Finance is preferred. • Advanced degree or CPA preferred. • 8 or more years of accounting, financial, and operational experience required. • Supervisory experience required. • Insurance industry experience • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles for GAAP and statutory insurance accounting and the ability to independently determine course of action based on these principles and analyze financial information. • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel) and automated accounting systems. Advanced Excel skills. • Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals. • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively within a team. • Provide leadership by example through feedback and input in group meetings and discussions. • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
