Joint Program & DCAP Background In 2015, CHDC expanded our services to help assist low-income families in accessing transportation services through our innovative Driving Clean Assistance Program (DCAP) in partnership with California Air Resources Board (CARB). The program offers financial counseling, down payment assistance, charging solutions, and access to fair lending options across California for income qualified participants to purchase new or used clean vehicles. Our projections show that our organization will serve over 12,000 low-income families within the next 36 months. General Responsibilities Under the direction of the DCAP Operations Manager the Grant Redemption Lead will support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Grant Redemption team. This will include reviewing Grant Redemption Requests, coordinating with dealerships, and supporting participants through the grant redemption process. The Grant Redemption lead will maintain appropriate documentation for internal processes and procedures relating to grant redemption. As a lead this role will also serve to support team members, and take on complex cases as needed. Responsibilities • Adhere the standard operating procedures for grant redemption that meet the needs of DCAP’s contractual obligations and provide efficient, high-quality service. • These SOP’s include but are not limited to: • Processing Purchase or Lease Agreements • Processing Grant Payment Requests • Email Management • Partner with internal & external stakeholders to review, refine, and update SOPs as needed. • Provide training and support for team members on the Grant Redemption team. • Recommend updates and changes to SOPs and internal procedures to increase efficiency and improve applicant experience as needed. • Support participants through the car buying or leasing process through phone calls, and emails. This support includes but is not limited to: • Helping the participant find an eligible dealership • Helping the participant understand the car buying process • Coordinating with dealerships to aid participants in the purchase or lease of an eligible vehicle. • Ensure that all information entered into the application system is current and accurate in order to prevent errors in grant redemption verification. • Serve at the next point of escalation after the coordinator to de-escalate complaints or appeals from participants. • Generate reports on Grant Redemption Process outcomes, including number of Grant Payment Request submitted, and average processing times. • Partner with external case managers and CBO staff supporting applicants as needed. • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward program applicants • Support with Intake or other program departments as requested. • Attend, and support, local outreach efforts specific to the Joint Program. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Minimum 5-year clerical experience or associate degree and /or equivalent experience in customer service, financial services. • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite of products. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Background clearance required Physical Requirements • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time. • Must be able to move throughout the office, access files, and meet with community stakeholders. • Requires the mental acuity to perform the essential functions as outlined in an accurate and timely fashion.
