JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER LOCATION: Auburn Hills, MI OBJECTIVE The Construction Technology Manager will drive the strategy, implementation, and optimization of construction software and innovative field technologies across our large-scale, complex industrial projects. This role requires a deep understanding of heavy construction operations and expert proficiency in our core technology stack, includingProcore,Rhumbix, Bridgit Bench, and variouspreconstruction (precon)software. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between field operations and digital solutions, ensuring seamless data flow, enhanced efficiency, and data-driven decision-making from preconstruction through project closeout. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Technology Strategy & Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive construction technology strategy to improve project delivery, safety, quality, and cost control across all projects. • Software Management & Optimization: • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for core platforms, including Procore, Rhumbix, Bridgit Bench, managing user access, configurations, and project templates. • Oversee the implementation and integration of preconstruction software (e.g., estimating, scheduling, BIM tools) with Procore and other financial/operational systems. • Act as a liaison between field operations and the Information Technology team. • Workflow & Process Improvement: Streamline existing construction workflows (RFIs, submittals, daily logs, safety reporting, time tracking) through the effective use of technology and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). • Data Management & Analytics: Oversee data collection, integrity, and analysis to provide actionable insights for project teams and executive management. Prepare detailed reports on project progress, budget status, and risk matters. • Training & Support: Lead the onboarding and ongoing training for project teams and field personnel on technology tools, ensuring high adoption rates and effective utilization across all sites. • Field Technology Integration: Identify, pilot, and deploy new field technologies (e.g., drones, surveying tech, IoT devices) that enhance productivity and data capture for large industrial sites. • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with technology vendors and internal stakeholders (engineers, architects, project managers, safety teams) to source, implement, and maintain cutting-edge tools and systems. • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all technology use and data management practices comply with company safety standards (OSHA) and regulatory requirements.Manage requirements for other compliance frameworks such as ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and CMMC. CORE COMPETENCIES • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or a related field; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or PMP certification is a strong advantage. • Experience: • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry, with significant experience in heavy commercial or large industrial projects. • Demonstrated experience in a technology-focused, project management, or operations role. • Proven experience in leading software implementation and training initiatives across multiple teams and job sites. • Technical Skills: • Expert proficiency with Procore (Admin certification preferred)and deep familiarity with Rhumbix, Bridgit Bench, and various preconstruction software solutions. • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for cost analysis, Project for scheduling). • Familiarity with data integration methods (APIs) and automation scripting (e.g., Python) is a plus. • Soft Skills: • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information to diverse audiences (field crews to executives). • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex operational and technical challenges. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT This role involves both office work and frequent visits to active, large-scale industrial job sites, requiring comfort in various work conditions.
