The Server is responsible for performing proper service steps, such as greeting tables, taking orders, providing courteous service, pre-coursing, etc., in all culinary services dining venues under the supervision of the dining room manager. Essential Functions • Greeting residents and staff and promptly taking food orders, serving beverages and meals according to service standards, and accurately entering them into the ordering system. • Set tables and stations according to the standard. Check each table to see if it is properly set with dishware and if each seat is clean in the assigned section. • Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests. • Makes menu recommendations and answers questions about menu items. • Performs assigned closing duties and side work. • Keeps workstations clean and orderly. • Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service. • Assist with dishwashing as needed. • Promptly address resident and guest service issues and refer to management when necessary. • Perform cleaning duties at the service station, around the kitchen, and in the dining area. • Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code and county health and food safety standards. • Attend daily menu review meetings and other departmental meetings. Physical Demands The physical demands here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodation will be determined on a case-by-case basis. • Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday. • Ability to stoop, bend, and stretch frequently in small tight areas. • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and hold up to 60 pounds. Experience Required • 3 year(s): Minimum of 3 years of experience working in commercial production kitchens, such as restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and banquet halls.
