Director, K-12 College Board – State & District Partnerships Location: REMOTE, but must live in Michigan Type: This is full-time role About the Team The State and District Partnerships (SDP) team at College Board is a dynamic and high-energy group dedicated to expanding opportunities for students by collaborating with educators in high schools, school districts, and state departments of education. Our team is committed to promoting the use of College Board programs and services, including the SAT Suite of Assessments, Advanced Placement (AP), and BigFuture. Our division is relentless in our pursuit of increasing the number of students who have access to these programs and ensuring our partners have the supports they need to implement them effectively. About the Opportunity As a Director of K–12, Strategic Account Manager, you are a key member of the team that supports College Board partnerships across the Midwest Region, including the vibrant and diverse educational landscape of Michigan and a second state territory, as assigned. You are directly responsible for managing relationships with key stakeholders at schools, districts, state agencies, and/or associations within your assigned territory. Your ability to build deep and meaningful relationships within this community plays a critical role in the region’s and the division’s ability to meet goals related to expanding access to College Board programs. When K-12 leaders in your territory have the information they need to select and implement College Board programs that will best serve their students, it’s because of your expertise, clear communication, ability to analyze and distill data, and skill to build strategic partnership plans that advance student success. In this role, you will: Develop Strategy and Approach to Partnerships with Districts and/or States (50%) Proactively apply understanding of full K-12 educational landscape in your assigned territory or state to develop & execute a state or district strategy plan in consultation with regional leadership and cross-divisional partners Consistently build and maintain account management planning processes and business review with each assigned account Deeply understand state and district-specific opportunities and problems to provide data-driven, personalized solutions that meet state and district needs, with the goal of maintaining and growing business across your assigned territory Independently analyze and identify data trends in assigned territory to develop recommendations for strategy that align to the larger state and regional goals Independently develop and execute account strategies balancing a growth orientation with a focus on service-model implementation Work in partnership with regional staff members on strategies for increasing volumes, driving growth and ensuring the appropriate training and implementation plans are executed Develop and deliver a secure sales pipeline by strategically aligning data to College Board programs and services to the needs of states and districts Plan and conduct in-depth workshops and professional development programs for K-12 constituent groups Manage implementation of state contracts and service or support models when applicable Manage Complex External Relationships and Internal Relationships (30%) Build and maintain strong relationships with appropriate contacts and decision-makers at external organizations, districts, or key state agencies including superintendents or other key leaders to drive adoption across states and key districts Partner with colleagues both within region and across SDP to strengthen collective work (e.g., identify interdependencies and strategic opportunities) Based on your portfolio, provide coaching and support to junior staff members on account strategy Execute Internal Processes & Manage Regional Projects (20%) Utilize Salesforce CRM for account management, to monitor progress toward goals, to manage state or district account plans, and for proactive opportunity and task management Lead or manage divisional or regional projects assigned by leadership About You You have: At least 8 years of relevant and progressive experience in education or a related field; direct experience in assessment, curriculum, or student achievement initiatives strongly preferred A passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work Authorization to work in the United States for any employer Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and a comfort learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively. Clear and concise communication skills, written and verbal, including developing and leading presentations, and ability to analyze and succinctly summarize key data points to present key findings to constituents A learner's mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receiving timely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user input. Strong organization and prioritization skills and the proven ability to move forward multiple time-sensitive projects in concert, both independently and as a member of the team Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft applications A willingness & ability to travel extensively, at least 40% but may vary based on territory assignment A valid driver’s license and willingness to drive A Bachelor’s degree Authorization to work in the United States Experience using customer relationship management system like Salesforce (preferred) About Our Process Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
