Role Overview: As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting the physical infrastructure of our client’s data center. Your work ensures the reliability and efficiency of data center operations, contributing to the overall success of the organization’s IT services. What You'll Do: - You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot data center hardware including servers, storage devices, and networking equipment. - You will perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of data center systems. - You will monitor environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity to maintain a safe operating environment. - You will assist in the setup and configuration of new equipment and infrastructure. - You will respond promptly to hardware failures and service requests to minimize downtime. - You will document all maintenance activities and update inventory records accurately. - You will collaborate with IT teams to support data center projects and upgrades. - You will adhere to safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure work environment. What You Bring: - Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a data center or similar technical environment. - Strong knowledge of data center hardware, including servers, storage, and networking equipment. - Experience with troubleshooting and repairing hardware issues. - Ability to work 100% on-site in Madison (Canton, MS). - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team. Bonus Points If You Have: - Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or similar. - Experience with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools. - Familiarity with cabling standards and best practices. - Previous experience working in a contract or fast-paced environment.
