Responsibilities The Application Security team at Coinbase is on the lookout for a skilled Software Engineer to design, implement, and deploy foundational security solutions that enhance the security posture of all Coinbase applications and services. In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams, product managers, and security engineers to integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle while efficiently addressing security vulnerabilities at scale. • Design, implement, and deploy baseline security controls across all Coinbase applications and services. • Develop security guardrails to proactively eliminate classes of security vulnerabilities. • Automate processes to streamline security reviews. • Support strategic security initiatives aimed at advancing overall security maturity and efficiency through automation. Qualifications What we look for in you: • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. • 5+ years of professional software development experience. • Proficiency in designing and building automated tools with Python or Go. • Experience in implementing solutions across various technology stacks and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. • A demonstrated ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Nice to have • A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. • Experience in AI security. • Background in building security-centric systems. • Knowledge of threat modeling and security design reviews as tools for guiding system development. • Familiarity with Web3 security concepts, blockchain technology, and smart contract security. Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
