Full Description

In Cohen & Co’s Office of the CFO Advisory practice, you’ll work closely with Finance and Accounting executives to drive strategic initiatives and transformation projects for our clients. You’ll leverage your knowledge of finance, accounting, and technology to guide clients in their transformation journey, generating analytical insights, in-depth analysis, and enabling data-driven decision making and operational efficiency. Key Activities • Contribute to and lead Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system implementations and optimization projects, guiding clients to leverage technology for enhanced finance and accounting operations. • Facilitate and document requirements gathering and design workshops to analyze complex business needs, translating them into actionable technical specifications and solution designs. • Perform advanced analysis on financial data to uncover trends, generate actionable insights, and support client decision-making processes. • Evaluate data and reporting readiness by assessing data quality, availability, and identifying gaps; develop actionable recommendations to enhance management reporting and analytics capabilities. • Support data integration and validation efforts, including mapping, reconciliation, and testing activities. • Develop comprehensive end-user training materials and documentation to drive successful adoption of new systems / processes. • Identify organizational change impacts and collaborate with leadership to develop and execute change management strategies and communications that support the adoption of new processes and technologies. • Provide expert guidance on budgeting and planning process improvements, including the evaluation and enhancement of budgeting models, calculations, and reporting outputs. • Develop executive-level presentations and deliverables that clearly connect current-state assessments to future-state objectives, roadmaps, and strategic initiatives. • Adapt deliverables and analyses to meet diverse client and project requirements, producing customized solutions tailored to specific business needs. • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in EPM, rapidly learning and applying new systems and methodologies to address complex client challenges. Requirements Who You Are • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related relevant field of study from an accredited university. • Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes and activities including: financial close, budgeting and planning cycles, financial reporting, modeling, and analysis. • Understanding of key finance transformation domains beyond EPM solutions including: processes, people / operating model, technology enablement, and data / reporting. • Demonstrated ability to perform structured problem solving, ability to work through complex situations and execute independent thought processes. • Comfort working with data concepts: reconciliation, validation, and understanding of how source systems feed reporting / planning processes. • Strong communication skills to build executive-ready storylines supported by technical analysis. • Commitment to continuous learning and demonstrated ability to learn rapidly to stay abreast to the changing technology landscape and industry best practices. • Excellent time management skills demonstrating the ability to excel in a rapid pace environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience with a leading EPM or FP&A, software platform – Existing certifications or credentials with solutions is preferred. • CPA and / or CMA certification. • Skills in data analytics platforms and / or coding languages. • 2-4 years’ experience in consulting, FP&A, or related accounting and finance role (Consultant level). • 3-5 years’ experience in consulting, FP&A, or related accounting and finance role (Senior Consultant level).
