Assist clients’ customers with outstanding balance accounts and secure payments while providing excellent customer service. Manage inbound calls, document account information, and handle patient disputes as necessary.
A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of healthcare collections experience are required. Strong customer service skills and familiarity with HIPAA and TCPA compliance are essential.
About the Role As a Healthcare Customer Service Collections Rep, you will make an impact by assisting our clients’ customers with their outstanding balance accounts and secure payment while providing outstanding customer service. You will be a valuable member of our Cognizant team and collaborate with our client’s stakeholders and other team members. In this role, you will: •Take inbound calls, acting as hospital representative to arrange debt repayment based on patient’s financial circumstances and client guidelines (via credit card, check, or insurance). •Document thoroughly by updating account records with all relevant information and actions taken. •Manage patient disputes, by collecting details, noting issues on accounts, and escalating to supervisor when needed. •Ensure communication by verifying that required statements have been sent and requesting additional statements, as necessary. •Contribute to team success by assisting with other responsibilities as assigned. Work schedule: Monday through Friday •4 days working 8am-4:30pm EST. •1 day working 11:30am-8pm EST. This is a remote position open to qualified applicants across the United States. Hourly Rate and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until October 10, 2025. The hourly rate for this position is between $16.00 – $19.00 per hour depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
