This role is central to translating complex clinical knowledge and formulas into precise, functional, and clinically validated digital requirements, ensuring tools meet the highest standards of accuracy and usability for clinical decision support. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers: Tier 1 - $95,000: Meets minimum qualification and experience requirements. Will need additional guidance and training beyond onboarding to perform key responsibilities of the role. Tier 2 - $108,000: Experienced and fully competent. Will be able to independently perform key responsibilities of the role once onboarding is completed. Tier 3 - $121,830: Highly experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed. To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable. This is a US-based remote position open to applicants in select states listed below. Some travel will be required. Arizona California District of Columbia Florida Georgia Idaho Illinois Maine Maryland Massachusetts Montana Nevada New Jersey New York North Carolina Oregon South Carolina Tennessee Texas Virginia Washington Wisconsin What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Requirements Elicitation & Documentation Elicit, define, and document comprehensive requirements for medical calculators, including the underlying formulae, clinical content, definitions, and data mappings Document precise code mappings for clinical variables such as laboratory results, vital signs, and patient conditions (e.g., LOINC, ICD-10, and ICD-9 codes) Stakeholder Collaboration & Validation Collaborate closely with diverse Subject Matter Experts (including clinicians and technical teams) to rigorously validate calculator requirements, clinical logic, and data mappings Agile Workflow & Backlog Management Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews) to communicate requirements and progress Draft, write, and refine detailed user stories and technical tickets for the product backlog, ensuring clear, actionable requirements for the development teams Process Optimization & Governance Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and improve the requirement gathering process for clinical tools, developing and maintaining documentation for internal procedures Define and establish the maintenance and governance process for updating existing calculators to align with new clinical guidance and standards Quality Assurance (QA) Execute and coordinate Quality Assurance (QA) testing on calculators prior to deployment to ensure functionality, data accuracy, and adherence to all requirements Who You Are and What You Know (Knowledge and Experience Requirements) A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a Business Analyst role, preferably in a clinical or healthcare setting (experience working on federal contracts is a big plus) Strong communication and technical writing skills with the ability to distill and relay complex clinical and/or regulatory requirements into easily understandable formats Strong analytical, research, documentation, and process mapping skills with a proven ability to translate complex technical and clinical concepts into clear, actionable requirements Excellent time management and coordination skills with the ability to quickly adjust and reprioritize tasks and projects as needed Comfortable working and directly engaging with a diverse group of clinical and technical stakeholders both independently and in group settings Full-time resident of the contiguous United States (must be legally authorized to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship) Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Domain expertise or previous experience within the Clinical Informatics or Health Information Technology (HIT) space, or with clinical coding systems such as ICD, LOINC, etc. Experience or familiarity with User Experience (UX) research principles in relation to clinical decision support tools Other Internet: Will prioritize and maintain access to strong, reliable internet for the remote nature of our work, except when on vacation or holiday. Security: Will keep the highest security practices to ensure privacy and security of Coforma and client information, given the nature of our work, even when on vacation. Travel Flexibility: On request and with advanced notice, will attend in-person events such as meetings, workshops, and trainings as assigned for projects that require it.
