Master’s degree in engineering or related field, 5+ years in innovation or R&D in oil & gas or energy sector, strong leadership and communication skills, and knowledge of energy transition technologies.
Your Role The Innovation Manager is responsible for leading, managing and coordinating the innovation initiatives within the organization. The role plays a key part in transforming traditional energy practices by identifying emerging trends, customer needs, and market opportunities, and translating them into actionable innovation strategies. The Innovation Manager will oversee the entire innovation pipeline, from ideation and concept development to prototyping, testing, and successful implementation of new products, services, processes, and business models. They will foster a culture of innovation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and establish metrics to measure the impact and success of innovation initiatives. Work closely with product management group within strategic approach to manage supplier relationships and maintain constant outlook for new and better raw materials (performance, cost, supply chain, etc.) The Innovation Manager will also be responsible for ongoing business and new business support via performance testing in the various production chemical applications. This encompasses a significant breadth of responsibilities, including, but not necessarily limited to: Application survey support, performance testing and recommendations, new test method development, current product line support via assistance with blends, formulations and troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and upkeep, as well as equipment needs, quality control support, raw material qualification, introduction of new products with associated qualification testing, and doing everything in a safe manner and culture. Responsibilities Assist in defining and aligning on innovation goals with overall business objectives and long-term strategic plans. Conduct comprehensive market research, trend analysis, and competitive intelligence to identify new opportunities. Develop and maintain an innovation roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on strategic impact and feasibility. Assist in overseeing the entire innovation lifecycle, from idea generation and screening to development, testing, and launch. Evaluate and refine ideas, identifying the most promising and feasible concepts for further development. Develop and implement training programs and tools to enhance innovation capabilities across teams. Collaborate closely with various departments (e.g., R&D, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Operations) to ensure seamless integration and execution of innovation initiatives. Act as a liaison between different teams, ensuring alignment and removing roadblocks. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and impact of innovation initiatives. Monitor, analyze, and report on innovation performance, adjusting strategies as needed. Demonstrate measurable returns on investment from innovation efforts. Identify potential funding sources and incentives for innovation projects. Allocate resources (budget, personnel, technology) effectively to support innovation initiatives. Assist in the development and manage the company’s innovation strategy aligned with operational goals, safety standards, and energy transition targets. Monitor global trends and competitor innovation strategies in oil, gas, and alternative energy. Support change management efforts to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within technical teams. Your Profile Education & Experience Master’s degree in engineering, Geosciences, Energy Management, or related fields. Minimum of 5 years of experience in innovation, R&D, technology strategy, or operations within the oil & gas or energy sector. Deep understanding of energy processes, regulatory landscape, and digital technologies in the energy domain. Familiarity with energy transition technologies (e.g., carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables integration). Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
