Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Agent to manage full-cycle procurement and material planning activities in support of ongoing transmission and substation projects. This consultant will lead sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management efforts while ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality material acquisition aligned with corporate objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in supply chain optimization, procurement data analytics, and process automation through Python and SQL applications. Key Responsibilities: • Lead end-to-end procurement operations, including supplier identification, solicitation of bids, negotiation of commercial terms, and contract execution. • Develop and maintain accurate material forecasts and inventory plans to support project schedules and cost targets. • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure timely material delivery and mitigate project risks. • Utilize Python and SQL to automate procurement reporting, enhance data accuracy, and provide actionable insights for decision-making. • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, quality metrics, and delivery timelines, implementing corrective actions as needed. • Maintain data integrity and compliance within procurement systems such as Order Hub and Maximo, ensuring alignment with internal controls and audit requirements. • Support strategic sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain function. • Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and material availability to inform procurement strategy and mitigate potential disruptions. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's preferred. • 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or materials management, preferably within utilities, energy, or heavy industrial sectors. • Proficiency in Python and SQL for analytics, automation, and reporting. • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with Order Hub and Maximo systems preferred. • Proven track record in strategic procurement, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization. • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
