Job Description An established and highly respected engineering organization with a strong portfolio of advanced communications products is seeking a hands-on Senior Hardware Engineer to lead complex circuit card assembly (CCA) design and development initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer with 8–15 years of hardware design expertise—particularly in FPGA- and microcontroller-based systems—who thrives in full lifecycle product development and enjoys mentoring others while driving high-performance, manufacturable solutions. What you will be doing: • Lead end-to-end CCA design and development from concept through production release • Translate marketing and system requirements into detailed design specifications and hardware architecture • Perform component selection, schematic capture, and support PCB layout activities • Develop and execute simulations, verification, and validation test plans • Design high-speed digital interfaces (PCI/PCIe, USB, Ethernet) and complex FPGA/microcontroller-based systems • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, IP developers, and system stakeholders to ensure seamless platform integration • Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues during development and production • Optimize designs for performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability • Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, revisions, and test results • Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and engineering best practices Experience you will need: • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering • 8–15 years of hands-on hardware design and development experience • Strong background in complex digital and mixed-signal designs involving FPGAs and microcontrollers • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Cadence OrCAD and Allegro • Experience designing high-speed digital interfaces (PCI/PCIe, USB, Ethernet) • Deep understanding of analog/digital electronics, signal integrity, power design, and thermal considerations • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills Preferred: • Experience supporting DO-254 certification across all SOI phases • Familiarity with environmental testing (thermal, shock, vibration) • Experience with MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC-429 • Exposure to Multi-Chip Module (MCM) design Our client asked me to submit 3 great people within the next few days.
