Job description: Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Mainframe CICS & MQ Administrator with strong L3-level system programming experience and exposure to L4 responsibilities. This role focuses strictly on infrastructure and product administration, not application development or coding. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in installing, upgrading, and supporting CICS and MQ environments on IBM z/OS. Relevant Titles: System Programmer, System Administrator Please Note: • Developer profiles or candidates with CICS/MQ coding background will not be considered. • Application-focused DB2, CICS, or MQ experience is not relevant for this role. • As this position is contract-based and hourly timesheet-driven, we are not offering any benefits for this role. • $73/hr on 1099 or C2C is the maximum we can offer. Experience Requirements Minimum 12+ years of hands-on experience in CICS and MQ administration on z/OS Strong L3-level admin experience with some L4 exposure preferred Required Skills • CICS product installation and administration • MQ product installation and administration • CICS and MQ upgrades and maintenance • z/OS SMP/E and z/OSMF knowledge • CICSPlex concepts (mandatory) • MQ sharing concepts (mandatory) Job Responsibilities CICS Administration • Perform full CICS system and product administration • Build and configure CICS regions • Execute CICS version upgrades and migrations • Apply patches to CICS software and Hostbridge • Perform ISV product upgrades and ongoing maintenance • Define CICS resources in online and batch modes • Configure CICS initialization parameters • Monitor performance and tune CICS regions • Troubleshoot system-related abends and operational issues • Manage CICS intersystem and intercommunication setups • Administer CICS security controls • Provide 24×7 production support • Partner with application teams to resolve CICS-related issues MQ on z/OS Administration • Install, upgrade, and maintain MQ products on z/OS • Build and administer MQ regions • Define, manage, and monitor MQ objects • Manage MQ logs and perform change activities • Support MQ sharing group configurations • Administer MQ resources including BSDS, Pagesets, Buffer Pools, and Logs • Manage CICS–MQ adapter control functions to establish and control connectivity between MQ and CICS Job Type: Contract Work Location: Remote Job Type: Contract Pay: Up to $73.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
