Overview The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) seeks a dynamic, results-driven Vice President of Membership & Strategic Partnerships to lead global membership growth and cultivate high-impact partnerships across the legal ecosystem. This executive will spearhead recruitment and retention campaigns for individual and enterprise-level members—including law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, and NGOs—while driving strategic alliances that elevate CLOC’s influence and value proposition. This role is ideal for a visionary leader who thrives on building relationships, galvanizing communities, and delivering measurable growth. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President will shape and execute strategies that expand CLOC’s reach, deepen member engagement, and position the organization as the premier hub for legal operations professionals worldwide. This is a fully remote position Key Responsibilities Membership Growth & Retention • Set the strategic vision and drive initiatives to grow, nurture, and retain a diverse and engaged global membership community, ensuring exceptional member value and long-term loyalty • Contribute to organization-wide strategic planning as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring cross-functional collaboration to enhance member programming, optimize visibility, and align pricing and partnership fulfillment • Design and execute innovative recruitment campaigns targeting law firms, corporate legal teams, government, and NGO legal departments • Develop and monitor KPIs for member acquisition, retention, and satisfaction • Strengthen CLOC’s membership value proposition through compelling messaging, benefits, and engagement strategies in partnership with Executive Leadership Team • Oversee the ongoing management, maintenance, and optimization of membership platforms — including the organization’s association management system (AMS) and related engagement technologies — to ensure efficiency, data integrity, and a seamless member experience • Lead and mentor the Membership team to deliver high-performance outcomes Strategic Partnerships • Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships across the legal ecosystem that enhance stakeholder value, extend reach and support the organization’s long-term growth objectives (technology providers, law firms, academia, associations, etc.) • Serve as the primary liaison between external partners and internal teams to ensure alignment, resource optimization, and delivery on partnership goals • Develop partnership frameworks, MOUs, and activation plans that drive mutual value and visibility • Represent CLOC at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings to generate leads and elevate brand presence Revenue & Sales Leadership • Drive membership sales and revenue growth through targeted campaigns, presentations, and relationship-building • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications, Global Events, and Learning and Engagement teams to create integrated campaigns that convert prospects and retain members • Analyze market trends, member feedback, and competitive intelligence to inform pricing, packaging, and positioning strategies Qualifications & Experience • 10+ years of experience in membership development, strategic partnerships, or business development—preferably in legal, nonprofit, or professional association sectors • Proven track record of driving revenue and membership growth through strategic campaigns and partnerships • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills • Deep understanding of the legal ecosystem and legal operations landscape • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with executive leadership • Ability to travel (domestic and occasional international) approximately 25–40% annually • Strong data orientation with ability to analyze performance metrics and pivot strategies accordingly Desired Attributes • Visionary strategist with a drive for action and results • Relationship builder who inspires trust and collaboration • Skilled communicator and presenter with executive presence • Passionate about elevating the legal operations profession and building inclusive communities • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving innovation What We Offer • Opportunity to shape the future of legal operations globally • Collaborative, purpose-driven culture • Competitive compensation and benefits • Platform for innovation, thought leadership, and professional growth
