To ensure that law schools and the next generation of lawyers benefit from exposure to legal technology, we are hiring a senior leader to scale Clio’s academic access program focused on law schools including law clinics, law libraries, classrooms and incubators. This role will be responsible for upleveling Clio’s existing academic program by strategizing, building and managing Clio’s strategic law school relationships, and ensuring Clio’s law school partners and their students are successful in navigating the complex legal technology landscape. This is a remote role based in the United States. What You'll Do Manage a tight-knit team focused on ensuring Clio’s successful partnership with law schools, acting in a player-and-coach capacity Define the strategic vision for Clio’s academic access program, including aligning on key performance indicators and success metrics, objectives and key results, and marketing strategies, and beyond. Identify target law schools and partner with them in a scalable manner to pilot new programs, ensure the partner’s success and generate maximum exposure to Clio’s products and services Generate sales to law schools of Clio’s products and services in order to increase student engagement with such products and services. Serve as a thought leader, trusted advisor and thought partner to leaders in the legal education space on all things legal tech including AI in legal tech. This may include seeking speaking opportunities and giving guest lectures. Own the day-to-day relationship with law school partners both directly and in a managerial capacity given the player + coach role, serving as the main points of contact across several academic institutions Drive training, support, and partner success to ensure that schools are successful Work cross-functionally across Clio teams including Strategy and Ops, Data Sciences, Sales, Solution Engineering, Customer Success & Support, and Marketing to ensure internal alignment and partner success. Serve as the company’s ambassador at law schools, conferences, and legal tech events. Help to reaffirm the perception that the company is a leader in innovation, AI, and the business and practice of law. What You Have JD or experience in legal education and/or legal technology 8+ years of professional experience in partnerships, business development, consulting, strategy, or sales Demonstrated experience in building strong partnerships and relationships Experience scaling programs while working cross functionally Strong operational chops to move quickly Expertise in technology, especially AI tools and other SaaS products. Experience managing and motivating a team Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure clear internal and external communication Willingness to travel for conferences and meetings Growth mindset when it comes to process improvement and new technologies, especially AI What you will find here: Compensation is one of the main components of Clio’s Total Rewards Program. There are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency. *Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
