About Climate United Fund Climate United Fund will use funding from the EPA under the Inflation Reduction Act to rapidly deploy low- and zero-emission products, technologies, and services to all American communities in order to (1) reduce GHG emissions and other forms of air pollutants; (2) bring direct benefits to American communities in the form of energy security, energy savings, cleaner air, and quality jobs; and (3) transform the capital markets so they can drive an equitable clean energy transition at scale. Climate United will focus its investments in Distributed Power Generation and Storage, Building Decarbonization and Electric Transportation. Calvert Impact, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ("Calvert Impact"), is the sole member of Climate United Fund. Job Description: Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ("Climate United"), is seeking a full-time Portfolio Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and programmatic standards in the deployment of funds from the National Clean Investment Fund. Reporting to the Director of Program Compliance, the Portfolio Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of our grant programs and driving the organization's mission forward. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement a robust portfolio compliance framework to align with regulatory mandates and award terms, specifically to ensure that financial assistance is provided to qualified projects. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including investments, finance, and legal to integrate compliance measures into portfolio management processes. • Serve as primary contact person for portfolio partners to ensure compliance and provide technical assistance and trainings for portfolio partners as needed. • Conduct periodic reviews (both internal and of portfolio partners) to assess the effectiveness of portfolio compliance controls and identify areas for improvement. • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and proactively adapt compliance strategies as needed. • Be part of a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. • Champion a culture of compliance and ethics across the organization, promoting awareness and understanding of compliance obligations among staff members. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in compliance management, with a focus on federal grant compliance and regulatory affairs. • In-depth knowledge of relevant federal regulations, including 2 CFR Part 200 and OMB circulars, pertaining to grant management and reporting and preferably experience with David Bacon Act or Build America Buy America. • Proven track record of implementing compliance programs in complex organizational settings. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. • Strategic thinker with the ability to align compliance initiatives with project goals. • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced certification or degree preferred. • Passionate about the mission and work of Climate United, Calvert Impact, and committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. • Willingness to travel up to 10%, primarily within the US, and ability to work from the Washington, DC area or be willing to come into the office quarterly for team collaboration.
