About the Opportunity Start Date: January 5th, 2026 Length of Fellowship: 10 months Location Type: Remote Do you have a passion for addressing climate challenges and building a foundation in energy management practices? As a Strategic Energy Management Associate through the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll apply your skills to support impactful sustainability initiatives with Alternative Energy Systems Consulting, Inc. This is a remote role, but if you live within commuting distance of the Puget Sound area, you will have occasional site visits and customer interactions. Schedule team meetings, organize tasks/deliverables, and contribute to strategic planning efforts. Provide delivery teams with logistics support such as procuring engineering equipment and coordinating site activities. Gather data related to energy use in buildings through site inspections, interviews, and research to identify energy-saving opportunities, including capital, operations & maintenance (O&M), and behavioral opportunities. Prepare written analysis of findings, recommendations, and results of energy projects for submittal to clients. Coach customers on the implementation of energy projects. This fellow will support the delivery of various programs, including but not limited to various consultant tasks for Seattle City Light's Customer Energy Solutions (CES) division and Puget Sound Energy's Large Power User (LPU) Strategic Energy Management (SEM) cohort. What We’re Looking For Basic understanding of demand-side management, supply-side management, permanent load shifting, and demand response. Coursework or degree and/or commensurate experience in energy, sustainability, or a related field. Experience delivering workshops to large groups in virtual and in-person settings. The ability to inspire people to change the way they view and manage energy. We encourage everyone interested in this position to apply, even if you don’t meet every qualification. We value all perspectives and believe that a unique background can bring significant strengths to this role, even if some qualifications are not fully met.
