ClickHouse is hiring a Product Marketing Engineer to focus on discoverability across evolving search technologies. This role builds on traditional SEO by optimizing for generative search (GEO), answer engines (AEO), and conversational interfaces. The objective is to expand awareness and adoption of ClickHouse by ensuring strong visibility across these evolving search environments. What you’ll do Own and lead the strategy for generative and answer-engine optimization to ensure ClickHouse appears in AI overviews, featured snippets, conversational search, and other new search experiences, and that such results are leading to successful customer acquisition. Lead experimentation efforts to identify, test, and refine strategies. Create structured, intent-driven content that resonates with both human readers and AI-powered systems. Expand distribution channels and exposure to 3rd-party websites to positively impact visibility. Audit existing content to identify gaps in visibility in GEO/AEO and drive projects to close those gaps. Partner with product, marketing, design, and docs teams to execute on defined strategy. Build and refine analytics and performance tracking to measure impact across GEO, AEO, and SEO channels, translating insights into clear outcomes and next steps for technical and content teams. Communicate cross-functionally about strategy, tactics, impact, next steps, and the evolving landscape. Stay ahead of industry trends. What you’ll bring 4+ years of hands-on SEO, content strategy, or web optimization experience with a strong track record in emerging search practices. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in computer science or a related technical field, or experience in software engineering or product marketing engineering. Fluency in SQL. Technical fluency in databases or adjacent areas such as analytics or observability. Demonstrated expertise in GEO and AEO, with deep knowledge of ranking signals, algorithm behavior, and how AI is reshaping search results. Strong growth and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, able to clearly explain technical concepts to non-specialists and align stakeholders. A forward-looking mindset with thought leadership in SEO/AEO/GEO and an eagerness to test new approaches. The typical starting salary for this role in the US is $142,000—$184,000 USD The typical starting salary for this role in US Premium Markets is $165,000—$217,000 USD Compensation For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range for this position is listed above. In certain locations, such as Los Angeles, CA, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, the Seattle, WA, Area, and the New York City Metro Area, a premium market range may apply, as listed. These salary ranges reflect what we reasonably and in good faith believe to be the minimum and maximum pay for this role at the time of posting.
