Job Title: Accounting Manager Company Overview: Clearstory is a pioneering company dedicated to transforming the commercial construction industry by addressing the $200 billion challenge of change orders. Our innovative Change Order Communication platform streamlines processes, reduces billing chaos, and fosters stronger relationships between general contractors, subcontractors, and owners. Role Overview: As an Accounting Manager at Clearstory, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. You will lead the accounting team, manage financial processes, and support strategic decision-making to help the company scale effectively. What You'll Do: - You will manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger. - You will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - You will ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. - You will lead the month-end and year-end closing processes. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities. - You will oversee internal controls and implement process improvements. - You will manage and mentor junior accounting staff to foster professional growth. - You will liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings. What You Bring: - You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - You have at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including managerial responsibilities. - You possess strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. - You are proficient in accounting software and ERP systems, preferably with experience in SaaS companies. - You have excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. - You demonstrate leadership abilities and a collaborative mindset. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the construction or technology sectors. - CPA or CMA certification. - Familiarity with change order processes or construction finance. - Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
