Job Title: Accounting Manager Company Overview: Clearstory is a pioneering company dedicated to transforming the commercial construction industry by addressing the $200 billion challenge of change orders. Our innovative Change Order Communication platform streamlines processes, reduces billing chaos, and fosters stronger relationships between general contractors, subcontractors, and owners. Role Overview: As an Accounting Manager at Clearstory, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will lead the accounting team, manage budgets, and support strategic decision-making to help the company scale effectively while maintaining financial integrity. What You'll Do: - You will manage the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. - You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. - You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. - You will ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. - You will lead and mentor the accounting team to foster professional growth and high performance. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial analysis. - You will manage audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors. - You will implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls. What You Bring: - You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - You have at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including managerial responsibilities. - You possess strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. - You are proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. - You have excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. - You demonstrate leadership abilities and a collaborative mindset. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the construction or technology industry. - CPA or CMA certification. - Familiarity with ERP systems and financial modeling. - Experience with change order processes or construction finance.
