Job Title: Accounting Manager Company Overview: Clearstory is a pioneering company dedicated to transforming the commercial construction industry by addressing the $200 billion challenge of change orders. Our innovative Change Order Communication platform streamlines processes, reduces billing chaos, and fosters stronger relationships between general contractors, subcontractors, and owners. Role Overview: As an Accounting Manager at Clearstory, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring accurate accounting practices. You will lead the accounting team, manage financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making to help the company scale effectively. What You'll Do: - You will manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. - You will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business growth. - You will ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. - You will lead and mentor the accounting team to enhance performance and professional development. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes. - You will coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors. - You will implement and improve accounting systems and controls. What You Bring: - You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - You have at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including managerial responsibilities. - You possess strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. - You are proficient with accounting software and ERP systems. - You have excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. - You demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to detail. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the construction or technology sectors. - CPA or CMA certification. - Familiarity with change order processes or construction finance. - Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms.
