Project Overview: As part of an enterprise Microsoft 365 migration initiative, we are seeking a seasoned Technical Writer who is also a power user of Microsoft 365. This role is critical in helping end users transition smoothly from one Microsoft 365 tenant to another. Clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation is essential to ensure adoption, minimize errors, and maintain productivity during the migration. Key Responsibilities: • Author and maintain comprehensive how-to guides for end users navigating the Microsoft 365 tenant migration. • Translate complex technical processes into clear, concise, and accessible instructions for non-technical users. • Test and validate documentation for accuracy, completeness, and technical correctness. • Publish and manage content on SharePoint, including real-time updates for breaking news, policy changes, or procedural shifts related to the migration. • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure documentation aligns with goals and user needs. Required Skills & Experience: • Proven experience as a technical communicator simplifying complex systems for end users. • Deep expertise in Microsoft 365, including tenant environments, apps, and user workflows. • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on clarity, usability, and precision. • Previous experience working through Clarity preferred; must not have prior Alaska Airlines experience. Preferred Attributes: • Proactive consultant mindset: able to provide insights, recommendations, and best practices beyond just producing documentation. • Strong organizational and collaborative skills to work effectively with stakeholders. Tools & Technology: • Microsoft 365 expertise required. • Consultant must provide their own tools and laptop. • AI tools usage: not required. Start Date: ASAP Location: Virtual (8am – 5pm PT) Project Duration: 8 weeks, full-time; potential extension 1–2 days per week for ongoing maintenance The pay range for this is $55.00 to $60.00 per hour on W2 basis. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
