## Key Role Overview This Assistant Store Manager supports store performance by driving sales, delivering excellent customer experiences, and assisting the Store Manager in leading and coaching the team. The role includes providing expert piercing services after training, maintaining operational standards (inventory, merchandising, POS), and representing Claire's trend-driven brand in a fast-paced retail environment. ## Key Responsibilities - Drive store sales and profit growth by delivering outstanding customer experiences, upselling, and implementing promotions to maximize revenue. - Engage customers with personalized styling advice, recommend add-ons, and create memorable shopping journeys to encourage loyalty. - Provide expert piercing services after completing the company's training program, ensuring safe, professional, and fun experiences for customers. - Maintain operational excellence by ensuring inventory accuracy, handling transactions efficiently, and keeping the store well-merchandised and visually appealing. - Support the Store Manager in training, motivating, and coaching team members to achieve sales goals and deliver excellent customer service. - Stay current with fashion trends and translate that knowledge into compelling product recommendations and styling tips for customers. ## Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of overall retail experience; at least one year of retail management experience is required or strongly preferred. - Ability to conduct piercings (will complete company training) and demonstrate patience and empathy, especially with young or anxious customers. - Proficiency operating a POS system and handling transactions accurately. - Strong verbal and written communication skills, selling skills, and customer-centric mindset to engage customers and close sales. - Physical ability to stand during shifts, lift/maneuver 11-35 kg (25-75 lbs), bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders or step stools as needed for merchandising and customer assistance. - Strong numerical skills for inventory management, sales analysis, and cash handling; self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently when required. - Passion for fashion and trends, and the ability to create curated product looks while on shift. ## Preferred Qualifications - Previous retail leadership or assistant manager experience is preferred. - Prior experience with piercing or related customer service roles is a plus. - Experience with inventory control, visual merchandising, and coaching/mentoring sales teams. ## Compensation & Benefits - Compensation Range: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour. - Benefits for full-time employees include medical, dental, and vision insurance, employee assistance program, life insurance, voluntary welfare plans, bonus plan eligibility, 401(k) match, vacation time, sick time, and paid leave. - Generous employee discount on Claire's products and opportunities for advancement and career development. ## Additional Information - Work arrangement: In-store retail role based at Claire's La Cantera location in San Antonio, TX; position requires standing, physical merchandising, and occasional independent store coverage. - Candidate journey: Applicants can expect an update within 5 days.
