About Us We’re an ambitious and fast-growing SaaS startup redefining how insurance and legal professionals collaborate. Our platform is built to solve real workflow pain points in claims and litigation, and we’re building a product that’s as intuitive as it is powerful. Backed by industry experts, we’re ready to scale—and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineering Lead to help us do it. About the Role As our Senior Full Stack Engineering Lead, you’ll be a hands-on technical leader, owning key systems across the stack with an emphasis on backend architecture, service scalability, and platform reliability. You’ll lead by example—writing production-grade code, collaborating across functions, and influencing long-term engineering decisions. You’ll also play a strategic role in growing the engineering team, with an eye toward stepping into an Engineering Manager role as the team expands. This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape the technical foundation and engineering culture of a startup at an inflection point. Key Responsibilities • Hands-On Development • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and modern frameworks. • Work across the stack to deliver end-to-end features. • Optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability of critical systems. • Technical Leadership • Make architectural decisions with a long-term product vision in mind. • Guide system design reviews, code quality practices, and tech roadmap planning. • Mentor and unblock junior developers and contractors. • Team Building & Collaboration • Partner with product, design, and operations to scope and deliver product features. • Contribute to hiring processes—interviewing, evaluating candidates, and onboarding. • Help define engineering workflows and best practices that scale as we grow. • Path to Engineering Management • Step into leadership responsibilities as the team grows. • Influence the future of our engineering culture and org design. • Coach new hires and drive a healthy team dynamic. Requirements • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong technical skills in: • Python Expertise: Deep experience with Python in production SaaS environments. Proficiency with Django, or similar frameworks. • API Design & Integration: Strong understanding of REST and asynchronous communication patterns. • Cloud-Native Infrastructure: Expertise in deploying and scaling SaaS platforms on AWS. Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud architecture. • Databases & Data Modeling: Mastery of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and ORMs, with strong understanding of schema design, query optimization, and caching strategies. • Security & Compliance: Solid understanding of authentication (OAuth2, JWT, SAML), data protection, SOC 2, GDPR/CCPA considerations, and secure coding practices. • DevOps & Tooling: Skilled in CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, or CloudFormation), observability (logging, tracing, metrics), and testing frameworks. • Scalability Patterns: Experience with multi-tenant architectures, horizontal scaling, and distributed systems. • Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Django, etc.). • Proven track record of full stack delivery in a startup or high-growth environment. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally. • Experience mentoring developers and leading small technical teams. • Self-starter mindset: proactive, organized, and deeply accountable. Nice to Have • Prior work in insurance, legal tech, or workflow-heavy SaaS products. • Exposure to hiring and scaling early-stage technical teams. • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
