Company/Role Overview: CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) Search has been retained by Union Electric Contracting Company (UECCO) to identify a Bookkeeper to serve their team. UECCO is a full-service electrical contracting firm with a century of history, celebrating its 100th year in business. Founded in 1926 and headquartered in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, UECCO specializes in commercial and industrial electrical work, including voice and data cabling, power distribution, solar power installations, lighting, fire alarm systems, and instrumentation. The company is union-affiliated and operates primarily in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, with the capacity to take on projects in other states as needed. UECCO is a family-owned business who prides itself on delivering high-quality electrical work and maintaining a reputation for excellence and integrity. The Bookkeeper will handle day‑to‑day transactional accounting functions, support payroll data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintain accurate financial records. This role reports directly to the Owner. What You’ll Do: • Check bank accounts daily for deposits and balances • Review email daily for AP invoices and direct deposit notices • Make deposits and record incoming payments • Enter accounts payable invoices and prepare weekly AP check runs • Maintain accurate AP/AR records and filing systems • Process payroll including entering hours, verifying timesheets, and preparing payroll data • Accurately enter and update job cost information • Perform bank and account reconciliations • Assist with monthly administrative tasks such as basic reports or data preparation • Support certified payroll documentation and union reporting as needed • Maintain organized digital and paper records for accounting and payroll • Submit annual 1099’s • Collaborate with external CPA for compiled & reviewed financial statements What You’ll Need: • Bachelor’s Degree preferred • 1–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred • Familiarity with payroll processes, especially multi‑rate or union payroll a plus • Experience with accounting software (Sage Timberline preferred but not required) • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, family‑oriented office environment Benefits • 100% employer-paid medical coverage for employees and their families (vision included) • Dental coverage paid for employees • 401(k) plan with a guaranteed 3% employer match, with potential for additional contributions based on company performance • Three weeks paid time off, with flexibility for additional time as needed • Summer “Fun Fridays” with office closure at noon Union Electric Contracting Company is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.
